Ballet School Solos & Latines Heels, Reggaeton, Afro - Salsanueva Paris

SalsaNueva runs two dance schools in Paris — one in the 12th arrondissement at 10 rue Érard, the other in the 20th at 32 rue du Capitaine Marchal. Founded by Julien Cogordan, a Champion of France in salsa (2013–2014), the school teaches adult and children's classes across Latin partner dances and solo styles.

For adults, the curriculum spans three Latin styles: Salsa Cubaine, Salsa Portoricaine, and Salsa Colombienne, plus Bachata and Kizomba. Solo dance options include Heels, Reggaeton, Samba Brésilienne, Hip Hop, DanceHall, Afro, Modern Jazz, Street Jazz, Danse Orientale, Body Movement, and Pilates. Beginners can join year-round with dedicated beginner sessions and Sunday initiation classes. Classes last 1 hour and hold between 10 and 20 couples for partner dances, or 15 to 20 people for solo classes. You don't need a partner — the school pairs students during class so leads can practise guidance with different followers and followers can adapt to varying lead styles.

Children's classes start from age 3 with Éveil à la danse, progressing through Danse classique, Modern Jazz, Street Jazz, and Hip Hop. Teenagers have their own track with Street Jazz, Hip Hop, Dance Clip, and K-Pop. All children perform in an annual Gala on a professional stage in Paris each June.

The school runs monthly Friday Folies social evenings open to students and non-students alike. It also organises choreographic workshops over several months building to the annual Gala, monthly stages, and open days in September. Beyond classes, SalsaNueva offers private lessons, team building and corporate dance courses, wedding choreography and first-dance coaching, and hen parties (EVJF). The SalsaNueva Escape programme is a week-long immersion — courses, social evenings, and sun — run in partnership with Club Med. Payment is flexible: choices include 1×, 3×, 5×, 8×, or 10× instalments with no fees. The school also sells individual lesson cards (20, 30, or 50 classes) alongside annual packages.

On your first visit, you can book a trial class through the online schedule. Wear whatever makes you comfortable — street clothes and trainers are fine, though experienced dancers often wear dance shoes and heels or leggings. The Studio Bleu has changing rooms on the ground floor at the far end of the building. Classes run 1 hour, and beginners are welcome every week with rotating partners.

The school is led by founder Julien Cogordan, Champion of France in Salsa 2013–2014. Reviews name other instructors including Jerry, Willy (Bachata), and ManuxSo (Salsa Portoricaine). The FAQ states that children's classes are led by a team of qualified, experienced artists trained in child and adolescent pedagogy.

Beginners are welcome year-round with regular beginner sessions and dedicated Sunday afternoon initiation classes.
