About this studio
Emerald Coast Dance Conservatory is a technique-focused studio located in Pensacola's Historic East Hill Community. They teach Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Acro, Creative Movement, and Dance Conditioning at recreational through pre-professional levels, accepting students from age 3 onwards.
The studio features a sprung marley dance floor, sprung hardwood dance floor, floor-length mirrors, portable barres, and premium sound systems. Class sizes are kept small by design: most kids classes are limited to 8 students, while upper level and specialty classes are limited to 12, so each student receives individual attention from instructors.
Emerald Coast Dance Conservatory runs a competitive performance team called ECDC Motion Company for outstanding dancers ages 6 through 18. Unlike many competitive programs, Motion Company's focus is not on winning trophies but on preparing dancers for the professional dance world—as teachers, choreographers, college participants, or professional dancers. The company aims to help young dancers become strong, appropriately independent, and responsible people.
All students perform in an annual Spring Recital held in June at the WSRE Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio at Pensacola State College. Each class (except conditioning and acro) learns and performs a dance in the show. The studio accepts new students through February 1st, with tuition prorated for mid-month starts. Drop-in ballet classes are available for beginning through advanced levels. The studio has an on-site dance supply boutique called Dancing UP for shoes and attire. Observation weeks are held periodically so parents can watch classes. Male students are welcomed in all classes and age groups.
