About this studio
Freedom Dance Studio teaches dance to children from age 3 through 18, and offers adult workout dance classes. The studio is a partner with CLI Studios. Classes span Creative Movement for the youngest dancers (ages 3–6), through to advanced levels across multiple styles.
The studio teaches Ballet, Jazz & Jazz Funk, Hip-Hop, Modern, Tap, Majorette, and Acro. Ballet classes focus on technique, posture, flexibility, balance, self-discipline and confidence, and are offered at beginner and intermediate level. Jazz combines classical ballet and modern dance with popular forms, emphasising energy, rhythmical accuracy and style—and can be patterned as Street Jazz, Percussive, Broadway, Contemporary or Lyrical. Hip-Hop is a less technical, high-energy style rooted in street culture, with moves including breaking, popping, locking and krumping. Modern and contemporary dance emphasises creative expression and inner feeling. Majorette is choreographed movement performed alongside marching bands, described as a high-energy, show-stopping style. Acro combines acrobatics and gymnastics with dance.
Creative Movement classes for ages 3–6 teach basic steps and terminology through imaginative music and games, building flexibility and coordination. The studio also offers classes introducing Ballet, Tap and Jazz together at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Freedom Dance Studio runs a competition team (yearly fees not listed separately). The studio hosts a Spring Recital and manages events including an S. K. Bennett Future Endeavors Scholarship. They can provide entertainment for events; enquire by email.
