About this studio

Go Dance Studio has been teaching partner dancing in Austin since 1995. The studio specialises in Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Country Western styles, offering both group classes and private lessons across a wide range of dances including Two Step, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Waltz, Cha Cha, West Coast Swing, Foxtrot, One Step, Nightclub Two Step, Bachata, and Rumba.

Group classes run on a progressive 4-week session schedule, with new students able to join at the start of any session. Classes are structured by level: Level 1 covers basics and is open to everyone; Levels 2 and 3 require instructor approval. The studio rotates partners during group classes so you dance with everyone in the room, whether you arrive solo or with a partner. Classes range from 10 to 40 people and run Monday through Sunday, with multiple time slots each evening to suit different schedules.

Private lessons let you work one-on-one with an instructor at your own pace. The studio has 15 named instructors, each specialising in different styles—David Abril has taught since 2007, Laureen Baldovi danced country halls as a teenager, Justine Bailey brings laughter and improvisation to learning, and Sofi Ortiz empowers students to develop confidence and express themselves authentically. All instructors are skilled in both leading and following roles.

Performance opportunities include dance teams in Salsa, Country, and other genres, plus custom spotlights at showcase events. Many instructors compete with students at local and national Ballroom, Country, and West Coast Swing competitions. The studio also offers wedding dance lessons to prepare couples for their first dance, and runs social dances and dance parties.

Practice space is available in shared ballrooms on a reservation basis, following traditional dance floor etiquette. The studio can be hired for private group classes (up to 40 people), corporate events, off-site teaching, DJing, seminars, and performances. Located in Northcross Mall Plaza on West Anderson Lane, the studio is open six days a week with extended evening hours.
