Imperial Ballroom Dance Company is a ballroom dance studio in Scottsdale, Arizona, led by Inna Berlizyeva and Artem Plakhotnyi, internationally recognized professional ballroom dancers and former Ukrainian National Champions. The studio features one of the largest floating dance floors in Arizona, designed for comfort, safety, and elegance.
The studio offers private lessons, group classes, wedding dance choreography, children's programs, and competitive training for dancers from beginner to advanced. Classes cover Ballroom (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep), Latin (Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble, Jive), American Smooth, American Rhythm, Country Western, and social dances including Salsa, Bachata, Swing, Argentine Tango, and Merengue. No partner is required for group classes.
A popular entry point is the Beginner Intro Package: two 45-minute private lessons for $99, introducing multiple ballroom styles with posture and confidence training. Adult group dance classes meet on Wednesday (Advanced Latin Training, 7:15–8:00 PM) and Friday (Social Dance Class, 7:15–8:00 PM). A 10-class punch card costs $150, or drop in for $20 per class.
Children's programmes run in two 5-month semesters (January–May and August–December) with age-based levels: Cubbies (4–5 years, Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:00–4:45 PM), Teddy Bears (5–7 years, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 4:45–5:30 PM), and Junior Class (8+ years, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 4:45–5:30 PM). Each semester concludes with a Grand Performance Event and exam. Group class membership for kids is $69 per month; private lessons are available Monday–Friday, 1:00–9:00 PM.
The studio is known for a welcoming, supportive atmosphere where instructors customise programmes to each student's goals, whether social dancing, wedding preparation, technique improvement, or competition. Co-owners Artem Plakhotnyi and Inna Berlizyeva are also founders of the Galaxy Dance Festival and Dance Sport Education, a non-profit that brings ballroom dance into Arizona grade schools. The studio emphasises fundamentals and technique, helping students develop core skills applicable across styles.
