About this studio

Madison Professional Dance Center offers classes across all ages, from toddlers and preschoolers to school-age children, teens, and adults. The studio teaches Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Acro. Staff are certified in Acrobatic Arts—a fusion of classic dance technique with acrobatic elements that blends musicality and emotional expression with precision athleticism.

MPDC runs both recreational and competitive programmes. The competitive company has a track record of taking first place and delivering standout performances, with students regularly excelling in regional and national competitions. The studio maintains low teacher-to-student ratios to support rapid progress and individual attention.

The teaching team includes instructors with significant professional backgrounds. Halia Hauer earned her BFA in Dance Performance from Butler University and is now a trainee with Madison Ballet. Lauryn Bredlau recently graduated Magna cum Laude from Point Park University with a BFA in Dance, Concentration in Ballet, and joined Madison Ballet as a trainee before teaching across southern Wisconsin. Elizabeth Luse is a Madison-based dance artist and educator with an 18-year career in performance and teaching in Chicago, including work with Lucky Plush Productions and six years on faculty at the Joffrey Academy of Dance. Elijah Richardson earned his BFA in Dance Performance from Chapman University in 2018 and performed and taught with DanceWorks Chicago for three seasons, working under director Julie Nakagawa.

MPDC alumni have gone on to professional careers: Nika Lindsay dances with the Frozen Broadway Tour; Nicole Cox performs with the Milwaukee Bucks; Imani English is a performer at DanceWorks Chicago; Nikki Clyce dances professionally in Los Angeles; Kallie Tierney won the Lou Conte Scholarship Program in association with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago; and Rachel Robison is Associate Director of Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company. Max Saron danced with the Young Lions in Chicago and currently teaches at MPDC.

The studio is centrally located and family-friendly, offering free WiFi and a comfortable seating area. MPDC was featured on WISC-TV. The studio offers a summer intensive (2025 sessions begin June 16 and June 30), spring mini sessions running May 4–June 11 in 5- and 6-week blocks, and regular summer classes from July 6–August 20.
