rumPUREE opened in 2006 as Thailand's first dance studio dedicated to world dances. The name combines "Rum" (Thai for dances) and "Puree" (Sanskrit for city), creating "City of Dances" — a mission to make diverse dance forms accessible to everyone.
The Samyan branch teaches across five broad categories. Classical Dance includes Ballet and Contemporary. Ethnic Dance covers Bellydance, Thai Dance, and Bollywood. Social Dance focuses on New York Salsa, Argentine Tango, Bachata, and Salsa Styling. Popular Dance spans Hip Hop, Music Video Dance, Cover Dance, Striptease, Street Jazz, Dancehall, and Broadway Jazz. Dance Workout & Fitness classes include Zumba, Pole Dance, Dance Workout, Headstand & Handstand, Mat Pilates, Strength & Flexibility, and Target Zone.
The weekly schedule at Samyan runs daily with multiple time slots. Morning classes start at 10:00, daytime offerings from 11:00 to 14:00, and evening classes from 17:00 to 21:00. You'll find structured courses (Full Course 6 or Full Course 12) running across many styles, plus individual workshops and social dance parties. Practicas for Salsa and Bachata run late on Thursday nights.
Levels range from Introduction (for absolute beginners) through Beginner, Beginner Intermediate, Intermediate, Intermediate Advanced, and Advanced. The studio encourages new dancers to start on suggested dates and complete full cycles to build solid foundations. Higher levels require instructor permission.
