The studio describes itself as "the most complete Latin dance studio in Vancouver and Burnaby," offering classes across a wide range of styles.
The instructor roster is led by Diego Sanchez, who has owned World Dance for 26 years and is a 4 time World Salsa Champion. Diego is the artistic director of Grupo America and is expert in over 28 Latin American dances modern and traditional. He teaches adult salsa, bachata, tango, spinning, cumbia, and chacha. Other lead instructors include Alexey & Vlada (US Open Champions and British Open Professional Rising Star Silver Medalists in Latin ballroom), Eric (hip-hop with 9+ years teaching experience), Kanika Sharma (Bollywood, 10+ years professional experience), Zafirah (bellydance, specializing in Modern Egyptian, Persian and Andalusian forms), Osiris Basurto (jazz, degree in contemporary dance from Universidad Veracruzana), Damon Jang (kids and adult ballroom), Melany (preschool creative dance and jazz), and Silvi (kids and adult ballroom, who has expanded zumba classes from 1-2 per week to 14-16 per week since joining in 2018).
Class offerings span kids, youth, adults, and fitness tracks. Kids and youth classes include preschool ballet (ages 3-5), preschool creative dance (3-5 years), kids musical theatre, kids jazz (6-10 years), kids beginner/intermediate hip-hop (6-12 years), kids salsa and latin (6-10 years), teen jazz (11-18 years), teen salsa and latin (11-18 years), youth standard ballroom (all ages), youth latin ballroom (12-19 years), kids latin ballroom (6-11 years), and American rhythm & smooth (all ages). Style variety includes salsa, bachata, tango, ballroom, latin, standard, mambo, cumbia, hip hop, jazz, musical theatre, bellydance, bollywood, and merengue.
The studio runs regular themed salsa parties on weekends, including 90's Summer BBQ Salsa Party, Piña Colada Salsa Party, Hawaiian Salsa Party, Wine Tasting Salsa Party, and White Rumchata Party. The mission is to provide "the best quality instruction at the most affordable prices," with pricing comparable to community centres while offering mentoring, theatre recitals, competitions, and pro divisions.
A yearly registration fee of $25 applies to all students. The studio is open 6am–midnight daily.
