About this studio
XLNC Dance Studio is owned and operated by three dedicated educators: Natasha Little (COO), Sabrina Mills (CFO), and LaShawn Summers (CSO). Natasha Little holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from North Carolina A&T State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education, with over 30 years of teaching experience. She serves as Competition Director, leading teams to compete at regional and national championship levels across all styles of dance. LaShawn Summers, a retired educator with 30 years of experience in Charlotte, Mecklenburg, and Cabarrus County Schools, holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and leads the studio as Performance Director, organising teams for performances at various Charlotte community events.
The studio offers classes across multiple dance styles. Children can enrol in Baby Combo Classes, Ballet & Conditioning, Tap, Hip-Hop, Tumbling, and Stomp & Shake (ages 3+). Combo classes blend styles—Monday's classes for ages 3–5 combine Ballet, Tap, and Gym (5:30–7:00 pm), while Wednesday's for ages 4–7 mix Ballet, Tap, and Jazz (5:30–7:00 pm). The Hip Hop Dance Crew meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Tap & Rec classes run Thursday 6–7 pm for ages 8+. Stomp & Shake meets Thursdays at 7 pm. Capoeira classes are available; contact the studio by phone or email for details.
Adult offerings include J9INE Fitness on Mondays and Saturdays, Soul Steppin' 101 Line Dance Class on Saturdays 10 am–noon, and Adult Ballroom-N-Steppin' every Saturday 11 am–12:30 pm. S.H.A.E. Movement African Arts classes introduce West African dance traditions. The studio also runs a summer camp (June 15–Aug 12) for ages 3–14, offering dance, tumble, basketball, cheer, and field trips.
Beyond recreational classes, XLNC runs competition teams and a Master Class taught by industry professionals in hip-hop, street jazz, and contemporary dance—an intensive 1.5-hour session for intermediate to advanced dancers. Competition team auditions are held in August. The studio also offers technique training, contemporary dance, ballet (including hiplet), musical theater, and jazz (covering jazz technique, jazz funk, and street jazz).
The facility spans 15,000 sq. ft. and includes multiple studio spaces: X1 (large, with mirrored walls and high-quality sound system), X2 (mid-sized with full-length mirrors and sound setup), X3 (spacious and adaptable), X4 (smaller space with sprung flooring and adjustable lighting), and X5 (elongated layout with professional flooring). The Xperience Venue Space offers 4,000 sq. ft. for social gatherings, fashion shows, corporate meetings, birthday parties, and dance events. The studio is conveniently located between I-85 and I-77, just off Harris Boulevard.
