About this studio

Dance Biz has been teaching Rochester to dance since 1985. Located at 1742 Long Pond Road in Longview Plaza (half a mile south of Ridgeway Avenue), the studio occupies three separate studios, each with suspended hardwood floors: 35' x 26', 36' x 17', and 32' x 21'. Air conditioning supports summer programmes. The facility serves ages 3 through adult, from beginner to advanced, and the studio notes it runs one of the largest adult programmes in the Rochester area.

Children's classes begin at age 3 and cover tap, ballet, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, tumbling and creative movement across multiple age groups. Classes are arranged by age band from 3–5 years through 16+ years, with progression classes combining multiple styles. A Dance Team programme operates by recommendation for ages 11–14. An annual production (recital) takes place in June, and an appreciation ceremony is held at the annual production.

Adult offerings include beginner and intermediate line dance (new beginner+ class added), jazz, tap at beginner and intermediate levels, two-step and country swing. David Interlicchia directs the studio and teaches tap, jazz, ballet, ballroom, country and wedding preparation. Cheryl Castronovo teaches tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and musical theatre. Corina Ferro teaches tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern and hip hop. Kathy Whitfield runs Rince Na Saor, the Irish dance programme, offering children's and adult classes at multiple levels including Sean Nos, with classes held Monday and Friday evenings.

Private lessons are available: students aged 7–18 can book 30-minute solos, duets or trios with class enrolment and instructor approval. Adults can take 45-minute private lessons in ballroom, wedding preparation, swing and country, with pricing for individuals, couples and group packages. The studio also teaches at corporate and private events. Classes run on a non-competitive basis in an enjoyable learning atmosphere. Pre-registration is required for all classes; online registration is available.
